A List of Thoughts I Had in 2016

dfdfdfd

sometimes i feel so far

from who i was and where i’ve been

that i cannot even remember

who i ever was before this

but then I think

i have taken 12 years of french and all i can commit to memory

is how to kiss aggressively

i have had a child at home

i am the mother of a daughter

who is rowdy and has taken my sleep

I can hear babies cry that are not my own and my

breasts do not mean as much as they once did

I swear I’ve taken more chances being me than being anyone else

and it has paid off even though

the most exercise i get is grating a piece of cheese and

even then I get winded

i have more men chained in my attic than i know what to do with

just kidding I don’t have an attic

truth be told,

i was never meant to keep the me I used to be

Absolutely love this! Now you’re a poet too. Stop making the rest of us look bad wouldya?

This is amazing, Jules. You can cross ‘how do i succinctly (and quite eloquently) catch people up on me inside and out in a poem’ off your ’17 to-do list.

Thanks, BStoll! I appreciate the sentiment…and the read.
