Book Breakdown of 2016

Oh lord almighty, I have been a callous, slovenly, pant-less blog updater, haven’t I? It took me five times to log into my account, and finally I was able to jumanji the sonofabitch. Yet my return to the blog-o-sphere (is that term still relevant?) is another story for a different blog post. For better or worse I am proud to note I’ll be back to blogging in good ol’ 2017. Although there are still two days left in the vapid asshole that is 2016, so it remains to be seen whether or not I’ll still be around to shred keyboard.

Back to the main point. I couldn’t let this year pass by without recapping my 2016 books. Shit, I worked hard to get these gorgeous reads in.

Last year’s grand total: 10

*covers eyes*

This year’s grand total: 7

*breathes deep*

  • “The Stranger Beside Me” by Anne Rule
  • “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins
  • “Before I Go to Sleep” by S.J. Watson
  • “Dr. Mutters Marvels” by Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz
  • “I Never Met a Story I Didn’t Like” by Todd Snider (THIS IS THE FREAKIN WINNER. READ THIS DAMN BOOK NOW. I laughed. I cried. I fell hard.)
  • “Grunt” by Mary Roach
  • “Without Getting Killed or Caught: The Life and Songs of Guy Clark” by Tamara Saviano

Hmm. Okay. Low number. Not acceptable…I promise I wasn’t busy breeding any more feral offspring.

Anyway. I will not fret. I’ve already made a 2017 goal (GOAL, PEOPLE, NOT RESOLUTION) to be nicer to myself and not apologize or justify. Just fix it if I don’t like it.

And so onward we go to 2017.

2017 – the year where I just go off and read a shit-ton of books and come back better than ever.

Next year's far...

Next year’s list…so far…

Happy (almost) New Year, guys.

I think I may have already said how much I LOVED Todd Snider’s book.
